Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a severe form of muscular dystrophy. The symptom of muscle weakness usually begins around the age of four in boys and worsens quickly.

At Muscle Owl, you will hear their stories, as we talk on topics from diagnosis and self identity to employment and physiotheraphy. Andrew Duffy, the brother of our founder and editor, Peter, has Duchenne muscular dystrophy and features on many of our media shows. Duchenne muscular dystrophy is one of the conditions at the core of our work.
